The
2010 hosts were the Kent and East Sussex Branch and the
Finals
were held at Isenhurst, East Sussex by kind permission of
Clive and
Gilly
Nickols on Sunday 4th July.
The judges were Mrs Gilly Nickols and Mrs Gwen Butcher. Three
trophies
were to be awarded: The Halliday Cup for the winning
team, The Westernash
Trophy for Top Dog and The Tilly Trophy for
the dog the judges would
most like to take home.
The wonderful ground at Isenhurst was a stunning background for
some
challenging tests; very well thought out and realistic, typical
of
what would be encountered on a shooting day.
The Eastern Counties Branch were the winners, taking The Halliday
Cup
with 438 points, with Kent and East Sussex running a close
second with
427.
Herts, Beds and Bucks were third with Surrey, West Sussex and
Hmapshire
in fourth.
Top Dog was Chris Loseby with his lovely yellow dog Warrenby Casanova
of Snipehill and the Tilly Trophy went to Vince Mitchell
with Barkmadbury
Desert Storm at Kirkmoor.
The organisation, by Julia Smith was, as we now expect, superb
and
Ben Van Praagh’s catering, inspite of some difficulties with
the
generator, was terrific and very welcome and our thanks go to
them.
Much appreciation goes to Clive and Gilly Nickols for the use
of their
land and to Roger Skinner Pet Foods our sponsors.

Judges and award winners
The mainstay
of all these events are the helpers who give so generously of their
time and expertise, the judges, the dummy
throwers and guns
without them we would be lost, many, many
thanks.
